Hostel Activities:
Backpackers Inn is perfectly located on the BEACH so many of our activities are FREE.
Why not spend your hours sun baking, swimming, walking, kicking a football or using one of the free bodyboards on the beach??? Hire a surfboard and the waves are always free.A 40 minute stunning walk along the beach will take you to Cape Byron Lighthouse, the most Eastern Point of Australia with fantastic views up and down the coast. A great place to see dolphins all year around and the majestic Humpback whales from June to October.
Of course nightlife is an important activity at The Inn. On Wednesday and Saturday we have parties with BBQ’s, live music and fireshows. Dressing up on special nights is a must. Our close relationship with clubs such as Cheeky Monkeys, Cocomangas and Woody’s Surf Shack means we always have fun VIP nights out as well.
Things to do in the area.:
Byron Bay is surrounded by a glorious bay, world class surfing beaches and a hinterland backdrop sprinkled with rainforests and funky towns. Throw in the endless amounts of eateries,restaurants, bars and clubs then you should never be bored.
Surfing:
Byron Bay is SURFING, with so many beaches the surf is always “up”. There are fully licenced surf schools with world class coaches going to the best breaks everyday and will have you standing up in no time. Come and get your Stoke.
Sea Kayaking
A must do in the bay, see dolphins, turtles up close and winter time get to see the mighty Humpback whale migration. It really is a good way to see Byron and the lighthouse from a water view.
Scuba Diving.
Located just 2.5 kilometres off the coast from Byron Bay, one of Australia’s most popular travel destinations, Julian Rocks Marine Park is rated as one of the top five scuba diving locations in Australia. The mixing of tropical warm currents with cooler temperate waters makes the diving near Byron Bay unique.Its a fish paradise.
Nimbin & Rainforest Tours
Nobody misses a trip to Nimbin whilst travelling to Byron Bay. Tours take you to this funky town lost in time and the magnificent surrounding rainforests and waterfalls.

Every Sunday there is a large market in our area. Food, clothing,jewellery, arts and crafts along with all the Funky people is a must to see. The 1st Sunday of every month is Byron Bay, tour every other sunday will get you to another fantastic market.
